Rekha Apparao Sowdi is an eminent artist and performer who has successfully represented Bidar on various cultural platforms in different forms of singing. She is now committed to showcasing the rich and varied folk forms of Kalyana Karnataka Region with Bidar being the focus region.
It's with this farsighted vision, Rekha Sowdi alongside prominent artists and family members has floated "BIDARI-The Cultural Forum of Bidar District", a multi-Cultural platform based in Bidar.

Rekha Sowdi's Singing is exciting and captivating especially when it comes to Semi Classical songs. She eases into Bollywood chartbusters, Sandlewood Kannada Film Songs, Janapada Sangeet, Ranga Geete and shows justice to all of them.
Music has opened her to many avenues, from learning more regional languages to experimenting with other singers and also to train herself to become proficient in classical music. She sings in different languages.

When not practicing, she is a complete home maker taking care of her two lovely daughters and doting husband. She likes to hum songs from her favourite playback singers like Lata Mangeshkar, S. Janaki, Lata Hamsalekha, Shreya Ghoshal and many more.
Major Achievements
Janapara Utsav-16
She held the attention of 15000 strong crowd and captivated their Minds with 15 mesmerizing solo/duet songs at state level "JANAPARA UTSAVA-2016-17" held at Nehru Stadium Bidar. The audience were thrilled to hear and were seen asking for more.
Hampi Utsav 2017
A proud feeling and sense of accomplishment felt after performing for an outstanding audience and got a rousing ovation at "Hampi Utsav 2017".
HAMPI UTSAV 2018
Again Rekha Sowdi's team was one of the best performers at HAMPI UTSAV 2018 as they performed Kannada & Hindi Film Songs.
BIDARI Launch - September 2019
With this sole intention "BIDARI" was launched on the 16th of September 2019, with much pomp and participation of close to 600 artists from all parts of Kalyana Karnataka Region, added more glory to this vision. The event was a daylong celebration of the art forms and artists, attended by connoisseurs, music lovers and all elected representatives of Karnataka State.
Rastriya Rangotsava Shivamogg Award
Rekha Apparao Sowdi was awarded with best Melody "RASTRIYA RANGOTSAVA STATE AWARD" Organized by Kannada Film Songs RANGOSTSAV at Nandi Circle in Shivamogg with KannaDa and Karnataka.
Government Recognition
At present she is a regular face at all music related programs in Bidar and around Karnataka. Be it Government functions or commemorative programs for musical legends, she is fast transforming into a multidimensional singer.
